faults
Faults are cracks in the Earth's crust.
- The surface of the Earth is made up of tectonic plates that are floating on magma.
- It is along the fault lines that Earthquakes and Volcanoes occur.
- There are many different types of faults, which are created depending on how the tectonic plates collide.
- Scientists believe that mountain ranges such as the Himalayas (including Mt. Everest) were formed as a result of colliding tectonic plates.
